Biography

Sereena Abbassi FRSA is a cultural transformation practitioner who supports her clients in creating happier, more equitable, inclusive and better-understood organisations whilst inspiring them to realise their potential for positive social change. Sereena was recently appointed as Non-Exec Director for one of her longest-standing clients, PrettyGreen. She has held previous posts as the Worldwide Head of Culture and Inclusion at M&C Saatchi Group, CEO of the British cultural and political magazine and media company gal-dem, Board of Directors for The Bristol Cable, a cooperative-led newspaper whose mission is to support democracy through local news, and an advisory council member to the Patchwork Foundation –– a charity that supports historically underserved young people make their way into politics and the civil service.

Additionally, Sereena has worked across sectors with clients such as Sony Music U.K., NHS, English National Ballet, Soho House Group and The Modern House. She has spoken at institutions such as The Guardian to the European Parliament and given lectures at the London School of Economics and Liverpool University. She has appeared on CNBC and Radio 4 and has contributed to titles such as Biracial Britain by Remi Adekoya, F*ck Being Humble by Stefanie Sword-Williams and The Reset by Elizabeth Uviebinene.

Sereena has an M.A. in Postcolonial Culture and Global Policy from Goldsmiths University, London, and a B.A. in Music, Visual Arts and Performance from The University of Brighton and attended The BRIT School. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society for Arts, Manufacturers and Commerce. Sereena is British, Persian-Iranian, and Jamaican and lives in Bristol with her artist husband, Pete, and their son.
